About The Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes are members of the Metropolitan Division within the National Hockey League Eastern Conference and was established in 1971 as the New England Whalers in the World Hockey Association. In 1979, when the WHA merged with the NHL, the team became the Hartford Whalers. In 1997, the franchise relocated to North Carolina and took on its current name, the Carolina Hurricanes.

The team's colors are red, white, and black, and their logo features a stylized hurricane warning flag combined with a hockey stick, symbolizing the team's name.

Throughout their history, the Carolina Hurricanes have experienced varying degrees of success. They won the Stanley Cup once, in the 2005-06 season. The team has also secured several division titles and playoff appearances.

Some of the most notable players in the history of the Hurricanes include Ron Francis, Eric Staal, Rod Brind'Amour, and Cam Ward. In addition, the team is known for its solid fan base, often referred to as the "Caniacs," who are passionate and supportive of the team.

Carolina Hurricanes Playoff Tickets?

The NHL Playoffs includes four best-of-seven series. Eight teams from each conference make the playoffs. The top 3 seeds from each division automatically qualify, while the remaining top two point getters from each conference get in as Wild Cards. The Eastern Conference 1st Round and the Western Conference 1st Round occur as follows:

Brackets for each conference are split by division. The 2 & 3 seeds in each division square off, while the lower seeded Wild Card battles the higher ranked division winner. The winners of each series in each conference will square off in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and the Western Conference Semifinals. There is no reseeding and the higher seed still has home ice advantage.

The winners of the second round then face each other in the Conference Finals to determine which teams will represent each conference in the Stanley Cup Finals. After the first two rounds, the home team switches from the higher ranked team to the team with the better regular season record. All series throughout the Playoffs are in a 2–2–1–1–1 format.
