Most Expensive Teams

As you can see below, based on the average list price on the secondary market, the Golden State Warriors are the most expensive team for the 2021 season. At $598 the Warriors are one of just two teams with an average list price of over $500 heading into the 2021-22 season. The Los Angeles Lakers ($562) are the other team and rank second on the list. The New York Knicks ($394), Brooklyn Nets ($339), and Boston Celtics ($309) round out the top five. No other team in the NBA has an average price over $300. 

Biggest Year Over Year Price Changes

As you might expect, in terms of teams that have seen the biggest price jump since 2019-20, last year's NBA Finalists the Phoenix Suns (+151%) and Milwaukee Bucks (+101%) take up two spots in the top ten. The Suns are ranked first and the Bucks come in fourth tied with the Boston Celtics.  The Up and coming Charlotte Hornets (+122%) and Atlanta Hawks (+105%) round out the top 5. 

Only three teams have seen their 2021-22 average prices fall since the 2019-20 season, the San Antonio Spurs (-8%), the Los Angeles Clippers (-9%), and the Houston Rockets (-11%).

How Much Are 2021 NBA Finals Tickets

Currently, with an overall average list prices of $2,411 on secondary market, Suns vs Bucks NBA Finals tickets are the second most expensive we've ever tracked. The most expensive NBA Finals we've ever tracked was the 2019 series between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors. That series had an average price of $3,899, which was nearly $2,000 more than any other NBA Finals since 2011. 

Following game 4 of the series, the cheapest tickets for game 5 of the series in Phoenix are $654, which is down 42% since prices peaked at $1,136 following the Suns game 2 win. For the Bucks, the cheapest tickets for game 6 was $724 at the start of the series, and fell to $710 after game 2. Since then, prices have risen 39% and currently start at $987 per ticket.

Then, after the Bucks won game 5, prices for game 6 continued to rise. As of Sunday morning, the cheapest ticket is now $1,453, which is up 110% since the end of game 2. Looking ahead to a potential game 7, those tickets start at $1,530.

While specific teams have their own health and safety protocols put in place based on state and local officials, the NBA released their own general policies prior to the start of  the season. Those policies include:

  • Eligible markets can host fans at 25% capacity.
  • All fans over the age of two are required to wear masks. 
  • Fans must stay socially distance from people not in their seating pod.
  • Fans must take part in a COVID-19 symptom survey prior to entering NBA arenas.
  • Fans sitting within 30 feet from the court must test negative for COVID-19 two days prior to the game or a rapid test the day of the game. 
  • Food and beverages are not permitted for fans sitting 30 feet from the court
  • NBA teams can install plexiglass between benches and seats.
  • Arena suites can be at 25% capacity without fans being tested.
2020-21 NBA Regular Season Schedule

The 2020-21 NBA season began on December 11 and then the first half of the regular season will be played from December 22 to March 4. The league’s season will be split by the All-Star break from March 5 to 10. The NBA All-Star Game will be played in Atlanta on March 7th, 2021. The schedule for the second half of the season was released on February 24th. The second half will begin on March 10th and conclude on May 16th.
