NASCAR is poised to become the first U.S. professional sport during the coronavirus era to have an event with tens of thousands of fans in stands by moving its All-Star race from North Carolina's Charlotte Motor Speedway to Tennessee's Bristol Speedway. The event will still take place on July 15 at 7 p.m., with plans to have 30,000 fans -- in a venue that seats 146,000 --  in the stands. If this happens, the event would mark the largest public gathering in the United States since the nation shut down in March in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
